Obit Elizabeth Russell, of Mt. Ephraim

RUSSELL, ELIZABETH
(nee Christiansen) on March 26th, 2007 was born in Camden, NJ in 1924 to Elizabeth and Olaf Christiansen.
She grew up in Camden and Mount Ephraim, NJ, attending schools there and graduating from Audubon High School. She took her nurses training and received an RN from Philadelphia General Hospital. She was a nurse cadet during World War II.
She worked in psychiatry throughout her nursing career, first at Philadelphia General Hospital, and then at Lakeland and Ancora State Hospital. She attained her BS in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968.
Betty, as she was nicknamed, then served as Director of Nursing at several nursing homes including Heritage House and Dayton Manor. She retired several times and finally settled into her home and hobbies of gardening, birding, reading, knitting and traveling. She maintained an active lifestyle until she became ill in 2005.
She leaves her husband of 49 years, William and a daughter, Anina as well as many family members and friends.

Funeral Service Friday 10:30 am at the Funeral Home. Interment of Cremains will be held private.
