Why should we have to call the Street Dept.?

Thank you for fully illustrating an obvious problem. A citizen of this community had to actually call public works for a street sign. One would naturally think that a street sign is a high priority in response to emergencies.

I firmly believe that someone from the police or fire departments reported this issue to public works prior to a resident making a phone call.

Why does it take a phone call from a resident or a posting on a web blog to get something done? For public safety, a temporary sign could have been placed in short order while the permanent sign was being built.

Also, I am not talking about low priority issues like branch pick-up. I have no problem calling the city for that issue.

If public works keeps chipping away at their issues in this city, this city will be a even better place to live.
