Welcome to the Gloucester City Shamrock Festival\’s Website. The Gloucester City Irish Society and the City of Gloucester will be hosting the Shamrock Festival on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 11am-7pm. The Shamrock Festival is held at Gloucester City’s historic \”Proprietor’s Park & Marina,\” which is favorably situated along the Delaware Waterfront at 225 South King Street in Gloucester City.
The annual day-long Irish celebration, which attracts thousands of visitors, commemorates the rich Irish community of Gloucester City. The event is co-sponsored by The Gloucester City Irish Society and the Gloucester City Urban Enterprise Zone.

Hailing from Brooklawn, NJ, the Broken Shillelaghs are a 5-piece Irish musical group featuring acoustic guitar, mandolin, bass, accordion, tin-whistle, and precussion. We started out with 2 of us on acoustic guitars as musical accompaniment for Gloucester City Pub Crawls. As we continued on, the demand increased for an Irish band so we added our 2nd guitarist and precussionist. As the years passed, we added bass and accordion. We play often at Oh! Hara\’s and Doc & Joe\’s Tavern in Gloucester City, Casey\’s On 3rd in North Wildwood, and Harper\’s Pub in Clementon and we also do various parties, festivals, and charity benefits including several AOH functions.

McGREGOR RANGE, N.M. — Stretching into the eastern and western horizons, about 3,000 New Jersey Army National Guard soldiers stood in units eight across and as many as 15 deep Friday during a departure ceremony that signaled an end to training and the beginning of a 10-month deployment to Iraq.
It is the largest deployment of New Jersey Army National Guard soldiers since World War II, said Maj. Gen. Mark A. Graham, commander of Division West.
