College Baseball: William Paterson Defeats Kean, 8-1

Union, N.J. (4/10/09) – Sophomore Mike Moran (Pompton Plains, N.J.) was 4-for-5 with a two-run homerun as William Paterson University swept the regular season series by defeating #5/12 Kean University, 8-1, Friday afternoon at Jim Hynes Stadium.

Southpaw Ryan Steidl (Randolph, N.J.) earned his first win of the season for the Pioneers (14-12, 6-3 NJAC). Steidl (1-1) tossed eight strong innings allowing just one run and six hits. He walked one and fanned four in the win.

WPU jumped on board with two runs in the top of the second. With runners on the corners, Marc Palestina (Paramus, N.J.) hit a ball in between second and third.
