THE ICE HAS MELTED BUT THE TRASH REMAINS

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ- $\"012208_0126_GloucesterC1\"$ Spring is here, the fountain has been turned on and the fishing has begun, unfortunately so has the dumping of trash. The perimeter of the lake is strewn with empty cans, snack bags, bottles, fishing line and hooks, not to mention one of the big dangers to the fish, turtles and water fowl, \”plastic bags\”.

What does this city have to do so that everyone fishing, or simply relaxing at Martins Lake, will deposit their trash in the cans provided? Gloucester’s Community \”Clean-Up\” day was Saturday, but from what I see clean-up day could be every day at this location. This carelessness is not only the actions of kids and teens, it’s also adults. Whatever happened to pride?

Please everyone, deposit your trash in the cans before you leave and show passers by how proud you are of our community’s little recreational spot named Martin Lake.
