Francis J. Downing \”Frank\” of Mt. Ephraim, Retired RCA Employee, former Umpire

DOWNING, Francis J. \”Frank\” Age 91 of Mt. Ephraim, passed away on Friday September 4, 2009.

Mr. Downing was born in Philadelphia and had been a long time resident of Audubon where he served as a Special Police Officer in his early years. Frank had worked at RCA in Camden for 43 years as a Parts Cataloger and had been a member of the Lindenwold Moose Lodge # 548. Mr. Downing was a member of the Independent Umpires Association (I.U.A.) and has been inducted into the South Jersey Fast Pitch Hall of Fame.

Mr. Downing is the husband of the late Adele (nee Markiewicz) Downing. He is survived by his children Tim & his wife Shelley Downing and Donna & her husband Skip Arechavala. Frank is the proud grandfather of Andrea, Sean & Rylee Downing and Kevin, Michele & Michael Arechavala. He is the brother of the late George Downing and the late Margaret Baker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 am at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Kings Highway & Black Horse Pike, Mt. Ephraim. Interment and graveside tribute will follow at St. Joseph\’s Cemetery, Chews Landing. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Downing family to remember and pay tribute to Frank on Wednesday morning between 8:30 and 9:30 am at the HENRY FUNERAL HOME, 152 W.
