\”It’s been a long, good journey,\” said outgoing mayor John Soubasis, as he received a plaque honoring him from Brooklawn Council members during December’s meeting.
Councilwoman Theresa \”Teri\” Branella presented the plaque to the mayor, and thanked him for his contribution to the residents. He served from the year 2000 to 2010.

The mayor’s wife and daughter were thanked also for allowing him to spend many hours for the sake of running the community.
\”Brooklawn is run like a business. I feel that the reason for our success is due to all who work here. \”If there was money here, we could do a lot more than what has been already accomplished,\” Mayor Soubasis said.
\”I am excited to start another chapter in my life. Borough council business and the town was my hobby. Among other memories I will remember how Tim Higgins (Borough Solicitor) used to send me funny notes during the meeting to make me laugh,\” he said.
\”Each town has its’ own personality. Yours has merged with the town,\” Higgins said.
