Yellow Ribbon Club Says Thank You!

On behalf of the Yellow Ribbon Club, I want to thank you for your participation in the Cookie \"Yellowribbon2\" Drive for the Troops. We have already received several thank you letters and emails from them and you can view them on our website. There are 2 places to find the letters. Once you go to our website www.yellowribbonclub.org, you will see a tab labeled Thanks From the Troops. If you click on it, you will see some of the letters and emails. Another spot to find them is in our photo album. Please visit the site and read the notes.

 

In November, we shipped just over 900 lbs. of cookies to many troops and in December we shipped over 1300 lbs of cookies. This is all because you took the time to bake cookies, package them, and deliver them to us to be shipped. What an awesome tribute that you showed our troops. You joined forces with the Yellow Ribbon Club and made a huge impact on those who are in harms way to protect us.

 

We want to send a big THANK YOU for your help in making the cookie drives a huge success. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy life to show the troops your support. We greatly appreciate your hard work and for assisting us in making a difference.

Paulsboro Marine Terminal Project Moving Ahead

Gloucester County press release

(Woodbury) – Two contracts that will continue to move the Paulsboro Marine Terminal (Port of \"Pine Paulsboro) project ahead were awarded today by the Gloucester County Improvement Authority.

A $15.7 million contract was awarded to AP Construction of Blackwood, NJ for the construction of an access road and overpass bridge that will directly connect the port to I-295, and a $48 million contract was awarded to Weeks Marine of Cranford, NJ for the bulkhead, dredging and sub-grade preparation activities for the future port were approved.

\”The Port of Paulsboro is moving forward. The access road and bridge will keep large trucks and equipment off the streets of our neighborhoods so the community is not impacted by the operations of the port,\” said Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney.

\"R2\" Suddenly, On December 28, 2010. Age 60. (nee Hunt) Of Gloucester City. Loving wife of the late Charles David Leeds. Loving and devoted mother of Dawn Burkhardt (Stephen), Mary Hayes and Leonard Hunt. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, James, Andrew and Kyle. Dear sister of Jeannie, Susan, Edward Jay, Joseph, Troy, Steven and Mark. Patricia was a resident of Gloucester Towne and loved to bake cakes for her neighbors there.

 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to her viewing on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in the Church. At the request of the family, cremation will be private.

Please come out to welcome home Specialist Gregory Gardiner Jr from serving in Afghanistan.
 
Specialist Gardiner is 24 years old, grew up in Runnemede, and is a graduate of Triton Regional High School.
 
He found his passion with serving his country when he joined the U.S. Army at age 20.
 
On his last deployment in Afghanistan, he served as a mortar man. 
 
Specialist Gardiner is a Purple Heart recipient.  
Friends, Family, A Hero’s Welcome, The Warriors Watch, The Yellow Ribbon Club, the Runnemede Police and Fire Departments, along with The Borough of Runnemede will be on hand to make some noise and welcome home this hero in Rock Star style.
