(Woodbury, NJ) – Gloucester County Freeholder Deputy Director Robert M.
Damminger said today that he is calling for all part-time elected officials and autonomous board appointments give up medical coverage by the end of the year. Damminger will have the resolution to end the benefits at placed on the agenda for the County\’s annual reorganization meeting this Friday.
\”This Freeholder Board has always led by example and this one reason we will be ending medical benefits. Public service is about service, not about benefits. This is the right thing to do and the right time to do it. I will be calling upon all of our autonomous boards and authoritys who have part-time appointed members who are currently eligible to receive medical benefits to end this practice,\” said Deputy Director Damminger.
Damminger said that this practice would eliminate medical benefits for up to 30 eligible people (4 elected freeholders and 26 part time appointed officials. The 30 eligible people include the
