Bellmawr was Illuminated for Christmas Season

By Chris Concannon, Gloucester City News

The Borough of Bellmawr led off its 2011 Christmas season with the opening of \”Christmas In the Park’ on December 2 at the Recreation Centre on Creek Road.

Santa made an early stop at the opening, sitting with dozens of area children, eagerly waiting to reveal their wishes to the Elf in Chief.

Tuesdays with Jason Mattera: Guess Who\’s Paying?

Remember when the President, attempting to posture himself as the champion of the middle class, famously complained about the rising price of arugula at one of the nation’s most luxurious supermarkets?

Quoth the faux granola-cruncher-in-chief: \”Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula?\” the Illinois senator said in 2007. \”I mean, they’re charging a lot of money for this stuff.\”

That was Barack nearly five years ago while seeking his Party’s nomination, before pulling off his unexpected victory in the Democratic Iowa Caucus. He then promised that an Obama presidency would lower skyrocketing food costs, which, admittedly, was less ambitious than his other promises of healing the planet and preventing ice from melting.

And whaddya know, he actually fulfilled a campaign pledge. But, guess who\’s funding the copious amounts of arugula at the local Iowa grocery store? Yep, that\’s right: You are! Read all about it here.

Congressman Andrews: Republicans, Democrats and Independents Must Come Together

Dear Friend:

For too many of our neighbors, the New Year will start with anxiety and uncertainty over our nation’s ailing economy. Too many Americans and South Jerseyans are out of work, or on the edge of losing their jobs, businesses, homes, health care or pensions. There is no simple cure for our problems, but one thing is obvious: Republicans, Democrats and Independents must put aside political differences and try to find common ground so that we can fix our economy and put Americans back to work.
