FDA Expands use of Pneumococcal Vaccine

Prevnar 13, a pneumococcal 13-valent conjugate vaccine, was approved today by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for people ages 50 years and older to prevent pneumonia and invasive disease caused by the bacterium, Streptococcus pneumoniae.

For too many of our neighbors, the New Year will start with anxiety and uncertainty over our nation’s ailing economy. Too many Americans and South Jerseyans are out of work, or on the edge of losing their jobs, businesses, homes, health care or pensions. There is no simple cure for our problems, but one thing is obvious: Republicans, Democrats and Independents must put aside political differences and try to find common ground so that we can fix our economy and put Americans back to work.
