DOVER DELAWARE(Oct. 7, 2014) – Delaware’s Scrap Tire Management Program, administered through DNREC’s Division of Waste & Hazardous Substances, recently sponsored its 12th scrap tire drop-off day in the state and netted 27 tons of old and disused tires for recycling. While the event late last month in Middletown wasn’t among the program’s largest turnouts, it was still successful in removing almost 2,300 scrap tires from the state’s landscape where they lay as potential health and environmental hazards.
