OFFICER DOWN–2 Police Officers Shot and Killed

HAITTIESBURG MS May 10, 2015–Police Officer Liqori Tate and Police Officer Benjamin Deen were shot and killed while making a traffic stop of a vehicle occupied by three subjects near the intersection of 4th Street and Gordon Street in downtown Hattiesburg.

One of the subjects stole the patrol car after both officers were shot. All three occupants of the vehicle, two brothers and a female, were apprehended later in the night. One of the brothers and the female were charged with two counts of capital murder. The second brother was charged with accessory after the fact to capital murder. A fourth individual was charged with obstruction of justice in connection with the case.

Officer Tate had served with the Hattiesburg Police Department for 11 months.

2 Sewell Residents charged with assaulting child

May 9,2015

WOODBURY NJ–Jacob Lihn (DOB 6/19/89) and Jennifer Pandorf (DOB 7/10/90), both of the same Lupus Lane, Sewell NJ address were arrested Friday (5/8) and charged with assaulting Lihn\’s two-year-old daughter, causing retinal hemorrhaging and bleeding on the brain.

The injuries came to the attention of doctors when the child\’s mother sought treatment April 11 after the girl had returned from a three day visit with Lihn.. The girl was initially treated at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Pomona NJ, then transferred to Cooper Medical Center in Camden NJ. She is now in a Marlton NJ rehabilitation center.

Lihn and Pandorf were charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Lihn was jailed in default of $50,000 bail and Pandorf was held in default of $40,000 bail. Both are unemployed and have no other children in their custody.

The investigation was conducted by the Major Crimes Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor\’s Office and the Washington Township Police Department.

Norristown Bookmaker Pleads To Tax Charges

 

PHILADELPHIA PA May 7, 2015 – Jacob Corropolese, Sr., 65, of Norristown, PA, pleaded guilty today to tax charges in connection with his sports bookmaking operation. Corropolese admitted to filing false tax returns when he ran a sports bookmaking operation. Corropolese received more than $500,000 in proceeds from bettors but did not report any income from his bookmaking activities on his federal income tax returns for 2010 and 2011. As a result he substantially underreported his income in each year.
