Police Found Cocaine, Meth, Oxycodone But Search was Illegal; Court Grants New Trial

RICHMOND, Va. (CN) – Police officers who discovered cocaine, methamphetamine and \"Logo\"Oxycodone during a routine inventory search of an impounded truck cannot charge the vehicle\’s owner for drug possession, an appellate judge ruled.

On March 27, 2012, Richlands, Va. police officers towed James Dean Cantrell\’s truck after the driver allegedly ran a stop sign, failed a field sobriety test and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

The ruling does not indicate whether the appellant was sentenced for drug or DUI charges prior to his appeal.

VA Tech shooting survivor speaks at SJ School Security Conference

Kristina Anderson, one of the most seriously wounded survivors of a 2007 mass shooting at Virginia Tech University, and subsequently the founder of a campus safety foundation, will be keynote speaker at the ninth annual School Safety and Security Conference, sponsored by seven southern New Jersey county prosecutor’s offices.

Former Ocean City HS Vice Principal Charged with Misconduct and Computer Criminal Activity

 Cape May Court House, New Jersey – County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announces the arrest of fifty-three (53) year old former Ocean City High School Vice Principal and Athletic Director, Christine Lentz of Meadow Lark Road, Woodbine, New Jersey for the charges of Official Misconduct, a crime of the 2nd Degree and Computer Criminal Activity, a crime of the 3rd Degree. 

The month long investigation led by Detective Bryan Hamilton of the Cape May County Prosecutor\’s Office High Tech Crime Unit revealed that, Lentz, while employed by the Ocean City High School as a Vice Principal and Athletic Director, accessed the Ocean City School District email of the Superintendent, Kathleen Taylor. Lentz did this between the dates of April 1, 2015 and June 1, 2015, without prior authorization.

Age 77. Of Gloucester City

On August 4, 2015.Age 77.Of Gloucester City. Born in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Elizabeth C.(Hyland) Pusey. James is survived by his sons, Michael Pusey and John Banks, granddaughter, Haley Banks and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude in 1990.

James worked locally for J.E. Caldwell Jewelers, Gulf &Western Industries and Shop Rite in Brooklawn, NJ.

James proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Services and Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.

Dear father of Scott, Brooke and Royce Simonds. He is also lovingly survived by his granddaughter, Serenity Simonds, mother, Evelyn Simonds, brother, Donald Simonds and sister, Phyllis Stoffer.

Ronald enjoyed fishing and spending time with family.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Monday 10 to 11:30 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 250 White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ. Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment private.

COMMENTARY: Philly Inquirer Can\’t Give It Up

Bill Donohue comments on the Philadelphia Inquirer\’s obsession with Margie Winters, a lesbian Catholic school teacher who said she was married and was released from her job as director of religious education:

 

Mike Newall\’s column today on this subject is a rehash of his July 15 piece lamenting Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput\’s insistence that Catholic teachings must be upheld. Chaput\’s response was very much of the dog-bites-man type of story that normal people react to with ennui, but for some reason it excites the folks at the Philadelphia Inquirer. This is the 11th story to appear on this contrived issue, totaling 8,271 words; seven of the stories appeared on p. B1 and two made it to p. A1.

 

Newall, following Winters, tries to play his \”pope card.\” It\’s a familiar gimmick: press a Catholic leader to get in line with the pope by attributing to the Holy Father views he never expressed. In this case, readers are told that Archbishop Chaput is not building \”conversations of inclusion\” with Church dissidents.

 

What a sap. To begin with, why is it that people such as Newall and Winters never want to build \”conversations of inclusion\” with Catholics who want the death penalty? Shouldn\’t those who want to fry serial murderers be given a place at the table? Or is it just those who like gay marriage?

 

More important, the Inquirer consistently misrepresents the pope\’s words on gay issues. For example, his famous quip, \”Who am I to judge?\”, was never about homosexuality—as the newspaper has written—it was about the pope\’s reaction to a gay celibate priest. Moreover, he offered two conditions for his non-judgmental stance: the person had to be \”searching for the Lord\” and be of \”good will.\”

 

As for gay marriage, Pope Francis has said that it is the work of \”the Father of Lies,\” meaning the Devil. Dialogue with the Devil, anyone?

Pain Patients Say They Can’t Get Medicine After Crackdown On Illegal Rx Drug Trade

The accident happened 10 years ago when Chris Young was 35. He owned a salvage yard in Maui, Hawaii, and his employee had hoisted a junker on a machine called an excavator when the hydraulics gave out. The car fell on him from above his head, smashing his spine.

\”He was crushed accordion-style,\” says his wife Lesley.

The accident left Young with a condition known as \”partial paraplegia.\” He can’t walk and he needs a wheelchair, but he does have some sensation in his legs. Unfortunately for Young, that sensation is often excruciating pain.

CAMDEN COUNTY TO SPRAY IN BELLMAWR, GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, CHERRY HILL

(August 5, 2015) – The Camden County Mosquito Commission regularly checks several \"Mosquitrotator\"thousand suspected mosquito breeding sites across the county. Spraying is scheduled on an as needed basis based upon the results of their surveillance efforts.

\”I cannot stress enough the importance of inspecting your yard and removing all standing water to reduce the mosquito population,\” said Freeholder Jeffrey Nash, liaison to the Camden County Mosquito Commission. \”This simple act can help eliminate the pest population in your neighborhood, and assist the efforts of the commission.\”

The commission will conduct spraying on August 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the following locations:
