Norristown Bookmaker Gets Prison Term For Tax Charges
PHILADELPHIA – Jacob Corropolese, Sr., 65, of Norristown, PA, was sentenced today to 12 months and a day in prison for tax charges in connection with his sports bookmaking operation. On May 6, 2015, Corropolese pleaded guilty to two counts of filing false tax returns. Corropolese received more than $500,000 in proceeds from bettors when he ran a sports bookmaking operation but did not report any of the income on his federal income tax returns for 2010 and 2011. As a result he substantially underreported his income resulting in a total tax loss of $120,002.

Update: Names of Suicide Couple Released
WOODBURY NJ (October 5, 2015)–The Deptford Township NJ husband and wife who were found fatally wounded in their 200 Idlewood Way home on Saturday (10/3) have been identified as Richard and Carol Leguern.
An investigation by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the Deptford Township Police Department has determined the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide, in which Richard Leguern shot Carol Leguern and then himself. The cause of his death is suicide and his wife’s death is a homicide.
The weapon used in the shootings was unregistered. No conclusions have been reached about a motive for the shootings.
