Coming off of a highly-successful 2015 season, American Legion Baseball has confirmed rule changes heading into next year’s season.

Rule 1.A. Baseballs. An American Legion Baseball authenticating logo is required on all baseballs that will be used in regular and post season competition. A current list of authentic products can be found on the website: www.emblem.legion.org.

BROOKLAWN NJ (October 23, 205)–The Brooklawn Police Department reported today that after a lengthy and thorough investigation a suspect was identified in the strong-arm robbery of an 85-year-old female in the parking lot of Brown\’s Shop Rite on October 13, 2015.

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ (October 23, 2015)–Between October 18 and October 22, officers from the Gloucester City Police responded to 18 domestic violence incidents, 12 motor vehicle accidents, made 64 traffic stops and arrested 26 suspects.

On 10/18 at 1050 hours a resident of the 300 block of Walnut Ave reported that sometime during the weekend unknown suspect(s) stole a Samsung tablet from her bedroom.

Earlier this week, the State Police posted a tribute to their recently fallen K-9, Rico. Local artist Laura Beard saw him on their Facebook page and this is what she had to say:

On October 23 2015. Age 54. Of Gloucester City. Loving wife of Arnold B. McElroy, Jr. Loving mother of Sarah Ann Garcia (Jorge) and the late Adam Christopher. Cherished grandmother of Phoebe, Jorge and Ethan Garcia. Predeceased by her parents George Swanson and Ann DeLordes Swanson. Also survived by her beloved dog, Poge.

PHILADELPHIA – Thael Kuran, 23, of Philadelphia, PA, pleaded guilty today to conspiracy to commit health care fraud and making false statements in a health care matter. The charges stem from a fraud scheme involving Brotherly Love Ambulance, Inc. U.S. District Court Judge Gerald J. Pappert scheduled a sentencing hearing for January 19, 2016. Kuran faces a maximum possible sentence of 15 years in prison, three years of supervised release, a $500,000 fine, and a $200 special assessment.

NEWARK, N.J. – Two Indian nationals will appear in federal court today to face charges that they conspired to use commercial airline flights to smuggle foreign nationals into the United States, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced. Nileshkumar Patel, 41, and Harsad Mehta, 65, both of India, are charged by criminal complaint with one count of conspiracy to bring in and harbor aliens. In addition, Patel is charged with six counts and Mehta is charged with four counts of smuggling foreign nationals into the United States for private financial gain.

(CNBNewsnet)–Reporter Anne Forline, of Bellmawr wrote an article recently for www.dogster.com about Angel, a Golden Retriever, who came into the world on March 9, 2009, with three legs and one eye. Today Angel is a therapy dog who visits hospitals and assisted-care facilities. For her efforts, Houston Mayor Annise Parker proclaimed Angel the Official Therapy Dog of Houston.

Herrera began rescue work in 2001 at the prodding of her mother. In addition to co-founding the Golden Retriever Rescue of Houston in 2002, she adopted an orthopedically challenged Golden named Rosie and started a fund to help people who adopt dogs with special needs.
