SOUTH JERSEY AREA TRAFFIC ALERT: I-295 ramp to Route 42 to be closed tonight in Bellmawr
(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the ramp from I-295 southbound to Route 42 southbound will be closed overnight tonight Friday, October 16 as the Direct Connection project advances in Camden and Gloucester counties.
Beginning at 9:00 p.m. tonight, NJDOT’s contractor, Conti Enterprises, will close the ramp from I-295 southbound to Route 42 southbound until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, Saturday, October 17 to permit the installation of test piles.
The following detour will be in effect for those trying to access Route 42 southbound from I-295 southbound:
Continue on I-295 southbound to I-76 westbound. Take the Market Street Exit and make a left onto Market Street. Take exit to I-76 eastbound, proceed on I-76 to eastbound to Route 42 southbound.
Variable message signs are being utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with Direct Connection. Throughout the project, NJDOT will provide information before upcoming lane closures or traffic shifts.

During the 2015 fall trout stocking season the Division of Fish and Wildlife will stock more than 20,000 trout in the state\’s major trout waters. The fish will be stocked from the Pequest Trout Hatchery from October 13-21.
This year will see a return to the stocking of larger fish measuring approximately 14\” up to 22\” in length and weighing one-and-a-half pounds to almost eight pounds. These Rainbow Trout will be stocked in 16 streams and 15 ponds over the two-week period.

Kennedy Health Holds Annual Golf Invitational

It was a fantastic day on the links at the 2015 Kennedy Golf Invitational, held September 29th at Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway, NJ. This signature sports fundraiser – which drew more than 100 golfers and several dozen additional supporters for the post-event festivities — raised $130,000, the net proceeds of which benefit Kennedy’s Community Mental Health Outreach Program.

The first Borough of Brooklawn Fall Festival will be held at the Brooklawn Waterfront at Timber Blvd on Saturday, October 17, beginning at 1 pm until dusk. It will be a full day of continuous live music, food, games, hayrides, entertainment, and it will conclude with a fireworks display (courtesy of Westville, NJ) at 7 pm over the river!
