Newspaper publishers throughout the state are feeling a lot better today after hearing that bill S2072 will not be coming up for vote in the State Legislature any time soon. If it had passed the bill would have allowed government agencies, businesses and citizens to post legal notices online rather than in newspapers.
On Friday (February 18) Senate President Stephen Sweeney (D-Gloucester County) told The Star-Ledger’s editorial board, \”I’m not pushing it at all and I don’t think it’s going to go anywhere.\”
Speaker Sheila Oilver (D-Essex) also put a stake in the heart of the proposal.
