Gloucester City Participating in 250th Anniversary of Navy and Marine Corps

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (OCTOBER 9, 2025)--Friday, October 10, 2025, Gloucester City will participate in the week-long celebration of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary. There will be public tours available of the U.S. Navy ships docked at the Gloucester Marine Terminal. 

Navy and Marine Corps 250th anniversary events

The “Homecoming 250” celebration will continue in the region on Friday, October 10, with the following activities: 

  • Ship tours: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the public can tour Navy ships, including the USS Lassen (DDG-82), which is docked at the Gloucester Marine Terminal.
  • Navy band concert: The U.S. Navy band is scheduled to perform a concert at the Philadelphia Art Museum at 7:30 p.m..
  • Army-Navy Cup XIV: The collegiate soccer match will take place at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m..

  • Hydrant flushing continues: The city has scheduled fall hydrant flushing, which will be ongoing during the week.
  • Local events: On Friday, October 10, the Gloucester City calendar also lists a public meeting related to the Homecoming 250 event.
