press release September 10, 2014
WOODBURY NJ–Clayton NJ police officers and detectives from the Fugitive Investigations Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office have arrested a Clayton man who failed to appear in court 8/27/14 on a theft charge related to the alleged sale of fake silver bars to a Washington Township NJ collectibles business.
Nicholas M. Conchewski was taken into custody without incident 9/7/14 at the Clevenger Drive home of a relative and transported to the Salem County Correctional Facility.
The owner of the collectibles firm contacted police 3/25/14 after learning from an appraiser that bars he believed to be pure silver, purchased from Conchewski on three occasions, were only silver-plated. Conchewski was indicted on a third-degree theft charge 8/13/14. He did not appear at a scheduled pre-arraignment conference in Superior Court, Woodbury.
