
Governor Mikie Sherrill today announced the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Outdoor Advertising Permitting process will become fully electronic beginning on August 1, 2026, with paper applications no longer being accepted. This change aligns with the Department’s Major Access Permitting process becoming fully electronic on August 1 as well, which Governor Mikie Sherrill announced on July 17.
The transition away from paper applications supports the Governor’s Executive Order 5 (EO-5) to simplify and modernize the State’s regulatory processes to save time and money, and improve affordability, accountability, and transparency.
