Subaru of America, Inc., as part of its Subaru Loves to Care® initiative, donated $35,000 to The Cooper Foundation, its fifth consecutive annual gift supporting Camden-based patients. In support of the automaker’s commitment to its hometown of Camden, the donation aims to provide access to vital medical equipment to Camden City residents and bolster essential services provided by Cooper University Health Care.

At approximately 8:16 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire on the highway along the 2700 block of South 68th Street. Upon arrival, police located multiple victims. Two of the injured males were immediately transported by responding officers to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. A third male was treated at the scene by Medic personnel but refused further medical transport. A fourth victim arrived at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) Pavilion via a private vehicle.
The shooting scene is currently being held for processing. No arrests have been made, and no motive has been established at this time. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Today, the Camden County Police Department will help children and families beat the summer heat with “Open Gym and Swim” at the Boys and Girls Club of Camden County – Marjorie & Lewis Katz Clubhouse in the Parkside neighborhood from 3- 5:30 p.m. Officers from the Community Outreach Unit will be in attendance to join residents as they swim, play, and enjoy free refreshments, music, and more. This event is the newest addition to the CCPD’s popular Village Initiative event lineup and will take place each Wednesday throughout the remainder of summer.
“As summer temperatures continue to soar, it’s important to us that we offer activities that will keep our residents cool,” said Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. “The Village Initiative has helped thousands of our young people and their families connect with our officers, and we look forward to continuing to expand with new activities every year.”
