Lions race to sixth-place finish at regional meet

Rochester, NY… The College of New Jersey men’s cross country team placed sixth overall at the 2012 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championships.

Six runners placed in the top 100 finishers as the Lions put forth an impressive team effort amongst the 44 competing schools at the event. Senior Andy Gallagher (Newfoundland, NJ/West Milford) led TCNJ, placing 17th out of 297 harries. He posted a time of 25:58.7 in the 8k event.

Freshman Jack Leahy (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) ran a solid race his rookie appearance. His time of 26:04.9 put him in 24th place overall. Junior Dominic Tasco (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) registered the third-best finish for TCNJ, placing 39th with a time of 26:21.3.
