Philadelphia, March 15, 2013 – Since 2011, the City of Philadelphia experienced a
population growth of 9,040 residents, a .6 percent increase, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. These findings are the result of the 2012 Census Bureau’s Population Estimates Program (PEP), estimating the change in residents from July 1, 2011 to July 1, 2012. The current estimated population is 1,547,607. In 2011, Philadelphia’s population was estimated to be 1,538,567. According the 2010 U.S. Census, Philadelphia’s population was 1,526,006.
