PHILADELPHIA PA (cnbnews.net)–Ten-year-old cystic fibrosis patient Sarah Murnaghan is presently undergoing a lung transplant procedure at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The operation started around 11am.
Early this month her family went to court to have her put on an adult organ list. Under existing organ donor rules, Sarah needed to be 12 to get on an adult waiting list.
This past Monday a review board took a closer look at Sarah\’s case and agreed to revise its policy so child candidates like Sarah, a patient at CHOP, could appeal.
This morning, Sarah’s mom Janet, posted the message below on her Facebook page.
God is great! He moved the mountain! Sarah got THE CALL. She will be taken back to the OR in 30min. Please pray for Sarah\’s donor, her HERO, who has given her the gift of life. Today their family has experienced a tremendous loss, may God grant them a peace that surpasses understanding. Please pray for Sarah and her surgical team and our whole family! We are overwhelmed with emotions!!!! Thank you to all of you for the unending support. Xoxoxo!! God bless! Today is the start of Sarah\’s new beginning and new life!
