Recent DNREC scrap tire recycling drop-off day in Georgetown collects almost 39 tons of tires
DOVER (March 30, 2015) – Delaware’s Scrap Tire Management Program, administered through DNREC’s Division of Waste & Hazardous Substances, recently sponsored its 14th scrap tire drop-off day in the state and netted 38.81 tons of old and disused tires for recycling. The March 21 event in Georgetown removed some 3,100 scrap tires from the state’s landscape where they lay as potential health and environmental hazards.
