| The 100th anniversary of Lawnside’s incorporation will be at the heart of the Historical Society’s November meeting. The virtual session will be held on Zoom at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13. The borough was incorporated by an act of the state legislature in March 1926 and the first election was held that April. Log in with your best ideas for ways to honor the foresight of the architects of this history that made our small town the only incorporated African American municipality in New Jersey as well as north of the Mason-Dixon line. No idea is too small or too grand. We’d like to include youth, senior citizens and all aspects of community life over the past 100 years.
