Camden Police Department members and their families will get to watch the Philadelphia Phillies play this summer thanks to a generous donation of the Norcross Foundation and The Cooper Foundation. Members of the Camden Police Department will be given four (4) tickets to one of four (4) Phillies home games at Citizens Bank Park. The tickets will be distributed on a first come basis. The Norcross and Cooper Foundations are donating $90,000 to the Camden County Police Foundation for the purchase of the tickets.
“We are so proud to recognize the amazing work of every member of the Camden Police Department by giving them a chance the relax at a Phillies game this summer,” said Alessandra (Lexie) T. Norcross, the chair of the Norcross Foundation. “Camden has rightly won national and international praise for its transformation from the nation’s most violent city to one where crime is at a 50 year low and there were no murders over the winter — success that are due to the hard work and dedication of its officers.”
Camden City officers will be eligible to choose among four (4) games:
- Saturday, June 20th, 7:15 pm vs. the Mets
- Sunday, July 19th, 1:35 pm vs. the Mets
- Saturday, August 8th, 6:05 pm vs. the Blue Jays
- Saturday, August 22nd, 6:05 pm vs. the Cardinals
“I want to applaud the generosity and benevolence of both these foundations not only for this gift, but also for the work they do every day to make the city a better place to live, work and raise a family,” Camden Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said. “Police work is one of the toughest jobs in America today and for our officers and team members to get on opportunity to take their family to a ball game on behalf of these foundations is a welcomed donation. This gift ensures that our team know they are appreciated for their ongoing commitment to our community in the city.”
Camden has become a national role model for its efforts to improve public safety for every city resident and worker. Since 2013 when the city’s police force was disbanded and a new, County-led community policing focused force began patrolling the city’s streets, Camden’s crime rates dropped dramatically. As the New York Times wrote in a recent feature on the city’s progress, “[I]n 2025, Camden, reached a stunning milestone: It achieved its first homicide-free summer in 50 years. Since 2012, homicides in the city of Camden have fallen 82 percent.” (March 27, 2026)
“There is no denying that Camden’s successes in recent years — from improved schools and graduation rates to new housing and cleaner streets and more job opportunities — have as their foundation the city’s unprecedented public safety improvements,” said Philip A. Norcross, the Chair of the Cooper Foundation. “Without safer streets, none of those other things would have been possible and everyone who cares about Camden owes them thanks for all they do every day. These tickets are just one way we are saying thanks at Cooper.”
Tickets will become available to members of the Camden Police Force in coming days through the staff of the Police Department. All members of the force will receive four (4) tickets on a first-come-first-served basis.
