Board of Commissioners Announce Investment to Improve Water Quality

 The Camden County Board of Commissioners joined with environmental leaders from across New Jersey on Tuesday morning to unveil a comprehensive plan for a generational investment designed to improve water quality throughout Camden County.

This historic effort will encompass the Cooper River, Kirkwood Lake, Atco Lake, Evans Pond, Wallworth Lake, and several other crucial watersheds throughout the county. Once complete, these coordinated investments in wastewater infrastructure, stormwater management, habitat restoration, sediment remediation, and recreational improvements will make the Cooper River and surrounding waterways throughout Camden County one of the cleanest and healthiest urban watersheds in the United States.

Iceberg Lettuce from Mexico Recalled due to Outbreak of Diarrhea

On July 17, 2026, Taylor Farms de Mexico announced that they are voluntarily removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market. Taylor Farms also informed FDA that they would initiate a recall. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

Consumers should avoid eating shredded iceberg lettuce from Mexico at Taco Bell locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia. 

Symptoms of Cyclospora Infection

Most people infected with Cyclospora develop diarrhea, with frequent bowel movements. Other common symptoms include loss of appetite, weight loss, stomach cramps/pain, bloating, increased gas, nausea, and fatigue. Vomiting, body aches, headache, and fever may be noted. Some people who are infected with Cyclospora do not have any symptoms. If not treated, the illness can lead to dehydration and severe complications that may require higher levels of care. These complications may last from a few days to a month or longer. Symptoms may seem to go away and then return one or more times (relapse). Immunocompromised persons may experience more severe illness of longer duration along with complications requiring close medical attention.

The FBI and LinkedIn recently joined forces to teach the public about employment scams disguised as legitimate opportunities. 
 
Employment fraud is generally defined as a scheme to deceive someone into believing they have been, or could soon be, hired for a job.
 
“Job seekers are uniquely vulnerable—not because they lack judgement but because they’re operating in an environment where urgency and opportunity are constant,” said Rebecca L. Keithley, assistant section chief of the Financial Crimes Section in the FBI’s Criminal Division. “The goal isn’t just to respond after someone becomes a victim but to help people recognize the warning signs early enough to avoid the scam entirely.”
