At about 11:30 on the night of July 22, 1991, Milwaukee Police Department patrol units saw a partially clothed man stumbling down the road near an apartment building on North 25th Street. A handcuff could be seen dangling from his wrist. The young man reported to police that he had been threatened with a knife inside that apartment building, prompting the officers to investigate. And the first report on the incident to FBI Headquarters indicated that the police arrested a man named Jeffrey Dahmer at his apartment, where they had discovered what could have been the set of a horror movie—numerous body parts belonging to multiple victims.

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) – A Vallejo attorney must pay more than $87,000 after his defamation and copyright lawsuit against two websites was dismissed, a federal judge ruled.
Dionne Choyce sued San Francisco Bay Area Independent Media Center and its Internet service provider Layer42.net in 2012. Choyce claimed the Media Center posted defamatory comments about him on its aggregate news site, Indybay.org.
He also claimed the organization broke copyright laws by publishing one of his images without permission.
Specifically, Choyce said Indybay posted a page titled \”Attorney Dionne Choyce, who embezzled from homeless, may serve prison time,\” and another one: \”The Choyce Law Firm evicted from building.\”
Choyce claimed that Layer42.net shared responsibility with the Media Center for publishing false information.

TRENTON – Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman and the Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor (OIFP) announced today that the leader of a car accident staging scam pleaded guilty for orchestrating two such ploys in 2010, which resulted in insurance payouts in the amount of $179,210 for medical treatment and personal injury settlement proceeds.

Olivares R. Liberato-Cohen, 46, of Passaic, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree conspiracy to commit theft by deception before Superior Court Judge Adam Jacobs in Passaic County. The state will recommend a five-year state prison term at his sentencing hearing, scheduled for February 6, 2015. He and his co-conspirators will be required to pay restitution in the amount of $179,210.

Atlantic Streets, Gloucester City for Joseph E. Dewechter \”Dewey\” of Gloucester City, who died on November 4, 2014 at the age 89.

 \”Dewey\” lived his entire life in Gloucester City. He graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School, class of 1942. He was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and dedicated much of his life to honor God and the Church. He attended mass daily for many years and supported St. Mary’s parish in many ways. Joe was an Army veteran of World War II, proudly serving in the Pacific from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946.

Joe retired from the US Postal Service – Gloucester City office- where he worked as a letter carrier serving Brooklawn and Gloucester City residents for over 35 years. He was a special friend to so many of his residents, helping them with their mail, and watching over the sick and elderly as he walked in the neighborhoods every day. Joe was a loyal Phillies fan. He never missed a game, and throughout the baseball season could be found listening to his radio or watching the Phils on TV each time they played. He loved the music of his generation, especially Sinatra and the Big Bands of the 30’s and 40’s. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. His wonderful personality, sense of humor, and love of family filled our lives. Our fond memories of him will stay with us forever. 

Loving husband of 61 years to Kathryn L. (nee Dolan). Loving father of Catherine Hughes, Joseph E. Dewechter (Sophia), Daniel Dewechter (Linda), Patrick Dewechter (Lori) and Robert Dewechter (Katherine). Also survived by his 10 grandsons and one granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday morning, November 8, 2014 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, NJ 08030. 

Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM in the church. 

Interment with U.S. military honors will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
