Elk Township Man Held on $1.5 Million Bail in Murder of Gloucester Township Housesitter

Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle reported an arraignment for an Elk Township man charged in a Gloucester Township Homicide.

Superior Court Judge Lee Solomon ordered Timothy Donnelly, M/46, of Elk Township, held on $1.5 million bail Wednesday afternoon on charges of Murder, Felony Murder and Armed Robbery. This was Donnelly’s first appearance in a New Jersey court since he was charged earlier this month. He had been receiving treatment at a veterans hospital for psychiatric issues in Coatesville, PA, at the time he was charged.

In the final days of 1977, a man now known as one of the most prolific serial killers in U.S. history—Theodore \”Ted\” Bundy—cleverly escaped from a Colorado prison while most of the staff was away for the holidays.

FBI agents quickly joined the search. In early February 1978, the Bureau placed Bundy on its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. Among the information shared by the FBI with law enforcement during this time were details on his \”M.O.\” (modus operandi or method of operation). Bundy typically looked for victims at places where young people gathered, such as colleges, beaches, ski resorts, and discos, the FBI explained. And he preferred young, attractive women with long hair parted in the middle.

$\"Jackham\"$ GLOUCESTER CITY NJ–Gloucester City Administrator Jack Lipsett announced today that the Broadway bridge over Little Timber Creek (Route 551) that connects Gloucester City with Brooklawn will be completely closed to all traffic from Monday, October 14 through Friday, October 18 between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Lipsett said PSEG needs to relocate the gas main over the bridge. \”These hours of closure are unavoidable.\”

Drivers are urged to use the existing truck detour signs for alternate routes.

One owner, South Jersey businessman and political power broker George E. Norcross III, was pushing, along with Hall, to dismiss Marimow, while at least one member of the ownership group, the parking-lot mogul Lewis Katz, opposed the move, the sources said.

In a statement Monday night, Hall said firing Marimow was his decision. \”As part of Interstate General Media\’s corporate documents, this ownership group agreed not to be involved in the editorial affairs and journalistic operations of The Inquirer,\” Hall said.

\”The decision to terminate Bill Marimow as editor of The Inquirer was made by me and associate publisher Mike Lorenca, which is within our authority to make such a decision,\” Hall said. He added that \”although not required, five out of six of our directors/owners have concurred in our decision to terminate Bill Marimow.\”

When contacted by phone early Monday afternoon, H.F. \”Gerry\” Lenfest, chairman of Interstate General Media, said, \”I heard the news this morning. I\’m not prepared to make a statement until I know what\’s going on.\”

Interstate General Media bought the newspaper last year along with the Philadelphia Daily News and Philly.com for about $55 million. That was significantly below the $515 million sale price to a different local ownership group in 2006, and the $139 million that creditors paid at a 2010 bankruptcy auction.

The Skeletal Remains of Washington Township Man Discovered

For Immediate Release/October 6, 2013

The skeletal remains of a man identified as Michael R. Miller, age 62, reported missing from his Washington Way apartment in Washington Township NJ on 11/19/12, were found and reported to police by an individual passing through a wooded area behind the apartment complex on Barnsboro Rd. Friday night about 9:45.

The remains were identified by jewelry and medical records. Results of an autopsy by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner are pending.

Miller was reported missing by the apartment complex property manager under what law enforcement officials considered unusual circumstances. Miller had not been seen or heard from in about two months and was two months behind in rent payments. His car was still parked at the apartment and his cell phone was left in his unit. Miller lived alone as of September 2012 and previously shared his apartment with a son and a friend of the son.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor\’s Office and the Washington Township Police Department are investigating.
