She said she knew this week has \”brought heartache, deep painful heartache\” to families in the wake of the not guilty verdict in George Zimmerman’s trial last Saturday.

Clinton also referenced U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s announcement Monday that the Justice Department will review the case.

\”Yesterday I know you heard from the Attorney General about the next steps from the Justice Department and the need for a national dialogue,\” she said. \”As we move forward as we must I hope this sisterhood will continue to be a force for justice and understanding.\”

Clinton’s comments came in a speech to the 51st annual convention of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the largest African-American women’s organization in the country. Organizers said that more than 14,000 people were in the room to hear her speak.

Since leaving the State Department, Clinton has kept up a busy schedule of speeches and public or private appearances, many of which are focused on women’s leadership or greater rights for women across the globe. Her public schedule has further fueled speculation about her 2016 ambitions.

Mass at Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul

 

The Knights of Peter Claver and its Ladies Auxiliary will host the 98th Annual National Convention the Catholic Fraternal Order July 19-24, 2013 in Philadelphia.

 

Bishop Timothy C. Senior will be the principal celebrant and homilist at the opening Mass. All are welcome to attend.

Upper Township, Cape May County, N.J. – On Friday, July 12th, troopers working with the Middle Township Police Department arrested an Atlantic County man for the theft of air conditioning parts from multiple businesses and residences in Upper, Dennis, and Middle Townships.

During the next two and a half months, troopers and detectives from the Woodbine Station would join detectives from the Middle Township Police Department to investigate the thefts. The thefts involved the removal of radiators and copper piping from air conditioning units at 21 different residences and businesses throughout Cape May County.

It doesn’t mean a \”black male\” as Morgan assumed, she said, but rather any kind of man, including \”Chinese\” for example. Morgan helpfully pointed out that that’s the version rappers use in their music.

\”But nigger,\” Jeantel said, stressing the \”-er.,\” is a \”racist word.\” She said \”I’d advise you not to be by black people\” when you say that word, Jeantel explained, \”because they’re not going to have it like that.\” And this is not just in her community as Morgan posited but in the entire \”generation.\”

Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle reported a shooting Monday night that left one dead and another injured.

 Lamar Ortiz, M/20, of the Autumn Ridge Apartments on the 1500 block of Little Gloucester Road in Gloucester Township, was shot multiple times in the parking lot shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday. Ortiz was taken to JFK Hospital Stratford and pronounced there at 10:35 p.m.

 An 18-year-old male from Marlton who was at the apartment complex at the time was grazed by a bullet during the shooting. His injuries were minor.
