The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife will be hosting a free 2-day Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs (HOFNOD) training for adult staff and volunteers of youth-centered community and/or faith-based organizations looking to offer an ongoing or year-round youth fishing, conservation and aquatic education program. HOFNOD is a great way to introduce youth to fishing while learning about their local waters and other natural resources while supporting positive outdoor recreation activities and life skills. The program can be tailored to fit most organizations.

(CNBNewsnet)–The NJ Department of Community Affairs (DCA) hearing for former Gloucester City Municipal Clerk Paul Kain concluded Tuesday, February 1 with the judge requiring written closing arguments in 30 days. Kain was fired in December 2009 for being absent from work without permission for more then 120 days.

His last day of work was July 10, 2009. Because Kain had tenure he had the right to request a hearing before the DCA. The case was heard by Judge Joseph Matone from the Office of Administrative Law (OAL).  Three months ago Kain made application to the DCA to be reinstated immediately to his former job but that was denied. In an attempt to settle the case between Kain and the City there was a mediation session before Judge Matone on December 21. According to sources Kain was offered a cash settlement of $90,000 but he turned the offer down.

Youth waterfowl hunting day set for Oct. 17

 

DOVER DELAWARE (Oct. 6, 2015) – To promote and provide additional hunting opportunities, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife has designated four future Saturdays as special waterfowl, deer, and turkey hunting days for youth hunters ages 10 through 15 on both public and private lands statewide. Non-ambulatory disabled hunters can also take advantage of these additional hunting opportunities on the deer and turkey dates, but federal requirements do not allow their participation in the special waterfowl hunts.

New Jersey State Police Investigating Fatal Turnpike Crash

(October 7, 2015)–Troopers from Newark Station, Fatal Accident Unit, Crime Scene Investigations Unit, and Troop \”D\” CIO are investigating the crash that killed the driver of a tanker truck on the New Jersey Turnpike earlier today.

At 3:16 p.m., the victim was driving a tanker truck northbound in the center lane of the Turnpike in the area of milepost 109.5 in Kearny.

October 7 Day of Action to Fight Passage of Murphy Bill Is Planned

Loving mother of Francis Schooley, William Schooley, Barbara Lewis, Dorothy Duncan and James Schooley. Predeceased by her children, Carolyne Mahoney, Edward Schooley and Harry Schooley. COAST GUARD TO SUSPEND SEARCH FOR EL FARO CREW AFTER 7-DAY SEARCH

Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force, Air National Guard and tugboat crews searched more than 183,000 square nautical miles off the Bahamian coast in a joint effort to locate the El Faro crew.
