Ahmed N. Ismail (DOB 9/9/90), of Vineland, NJ was sentenced today (9/18) to five years in New Jersey state prison after pleading guilty to second-degree possession of a handgun during an altercation with a woman in a Monroe Township NJ residence on 2/26/14.

Under terms of the negotiated plea, Ismail must serve 3 ½ years of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ–Today, September 21, 2015 at 9:17 am , officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence on Holly Avenue. Upon arrival, the resident reported she heard a noise outside a first floor window on the rear of the house. When the resident investigated, an unknown male was observed outside the window and the screen had been pushed up.

The male was described as white, approximately 5’8\” tall, wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball cap worn backwards. He was also wearing sunglasses and appeared to be young. The male fled from the area prior to police arrival. If anyone witnessed a suspect fitting this description in the area or has any information about this incident, please contact Sgt. The Department of Interior did their best naive teenager impression when they negotiated a deal with Westlands Water District who channeled their inner used car salesman. Not surprisingly, Westlands got a sweet deal while DOI turned Uncle Sam into Uncle Sucker. In the end the government got little other than relieved of an empty threat, out several hundred million dollars, and promised to sell a ton of subsidized water for the next 50-100 years to a greedy group that could use it to grow crops, resell it, or whatever – all this in the midst of record drought. Fourth ATC Permitted to Dispense Medicinal Marijuana

 The New Jersey Department of Health today issued a permit to Compassionate Sciences, Inc. in Bellmawr Borough, Camden County to operate as an Alternative Treatment Center (ATC). The permit was issued after a final Department inspection of its facility.

Compassionate Sciences expects to open the first week of October.

A recent survey by the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania found that a majority of Americans are unaware of what is considered basic knowledge of the Constitution.

HARRISBURG, PN—The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced today that the former Director of Marketing and Merchandising for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PA-LCB) pled guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Sylvia H. Rambo to a scheme to defraud the state, its citizens and the PA-LCB of their right to his honest services as a public official through bribes, kick-backs and concealing information.

Over the past month Lindenwold residents have been experiencing an increase in car burglaries. In almost all of the cases thieves have been targeting unlocked vehicles. Almost all of the thefts have occurred during the overnight hours on residential side streets in the Garden Lake Section as well as the neighborhoods along East Atlantic Avenue. Most of these thefts could have been prevented if vehicle owners had remembered to lock their car doors.
