I-295 southbound/Al-Jo’s Curve Overnight Closure

(Trenton) – The I-295 southbound ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo’s Curve, is scheduled to be closed and detoured overnight next week as the Direct Connection project advances in Bellmawr, Camden County. This is a continuation of work that began on Monday, January 5.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Monday, January 19 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, and continuing each night through Thursday, January 22 at the same time, the I-295 southbound ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo’s Curve, is scheduled to be closed and detoured. The right lane on I-295 southbound also will be closed just after Exit 28/Route 168. All motorists traveling on I-295 southbound will be directed to stay left onto Exit 26. The closures are necessary for pipe installation and removal of the temporary Browning Road Bridge west abutment. The following detour will be in place:

Road Closure and Lane Shift-Voorhees

On today, January 14, from 10:00am – 2:00pm, Asphalt Restoration Enterprise, on behalf of New Jersey American Water, will be restoring asphalt patches. There will be a full road closure on South Burnt Mill Road between Evesham Road and Fairview Avenue, and a lane shift on White Horse Road between Executive Drive and Haddonfield-Berlin Road.

Camden County Roadwork Projects

(Lindenwold, NJ) – Several roadway projects will be underway across Camden County during the week of January 12 to January 16.

“Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

Camden

PSE&G will be working on Federal Street and River Avenue from Monday, Jan. 12 to Friday, Jan. 16 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a lane shift on Federal Street between River Avenue & 16^th Street and a full road closure of River Avenue between East State Street & Federal Street.
Crews will be working on Haddon Avenue from Monday, Jan. 12 to Friday, Jan. 16 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be a full road closure between Newton Avenue & Euclid Avenue.
PSE&G will be working on Ferry Avenue on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. There will be a partial road closure westbound between South 9^th Street & South 10^th Street.
PSE&G will be working on Kaighn Avenue on Thursday, Jan. 15 from 7 a.m. to noon. There will be a full road closure between Haddon Avenue & Kenwood Avenue.
PSE&G will be working on Marlton Pike & Baird Boulevard on Friday, Jan. 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be lane shifts at the intersection of Marlton Pike & Baird Boulevard.

Collingswood

Crews will be working on Park Avenue from Monday, Jan. 12 to Friday, Jan. 16 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be a full road closure between Dill Avenue & Ogden Avenue.

The Atlantic City Expressway All Electronic Tolling To Begin On January 4, 2026

The South Jersey Transportation Authority has announced that cashless tolls will begin on January 4th on the Atlantic City Expressway. There are two ways drivers will be billed for their tolls: E-ZPass, which will remain the same, and Toll-By-Plate, in which a bill will be mailed to the address on the vehicle’s registration but possibly at a higher rate.

Camden County Public Works Crews On the Job

(Lindenwold, NJ) – As a winter storm approaches our region this evening, the Camden County Department of Public Works is working diligently to ensure the county’s 1,200 lane miles of road are safe and passable for motorists.

“Our crews have been called in to ensure that our roads are prepared for this winter weather event,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “As our crews head out to treat the roads, remember to always leave at least six car lengths behind our vehicles while they work and move any cars off the street and into a driveway.”

A brief snow shower is expected in the early afternoon, with conditions transitioning to sleet and freezing rain after sunset and continuing through the night. The winter weather is expected to taper off around midday on Saturday. However, long-term freezing temperatures throughout the weekend will ensure snow and ice remain on untreated surfaces for several days.

TSA prepares for holiday travel season to cap record year

WASHINGTON – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is gearing up for a busy end-of-year holiday travel season, one that may reach record passenger levels. TSA is fully staffed and ready to screen a projected 44.3 million travelers at the nation’s airport security checkpoints between Friday, Dec 19, 2025, through Sunday, Jan 4, 2026. The agency expects the heaviest traveler volume will be about 2.86 million on Sunday, Dec 28, followed by Dec 19, 20, 21, 27, and 29. The busiest day last year was Friday, Dec. 27, when TSA screened just under 2.85 million travelers.
