Caroline Howarth, active member of the State, County & Local Legion Auxiliary, past Pony Tail League President, GOP Committee woman, & member of Helping Hand Committee

Caroline J. Howarth, (nee Dorris) of Gloucester City, died on January 14, 2008 at the age of 54. Caroline was known to all as \”Candy\” and she was a lifelong resident of Gloucester City. She graduated from Gloucester City High School in 1971. Candy was a dedicated worker and Supervisor for 33 years at the Camden County Superintendent of Elections in Camden presently in Pennsauken.
Candy devoted her life to her family and loved the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was Past Unit President of Brooklawn American Legion Auxiliary Unit #72, Past Camden County President of the American Legion Auxiliary. Presently, Candy was Historian for the American Legion Auxiliary Department of New Jersey. She was a member of the 8/40 American Legion Auxiliary. Candy was Past President of the Gloucester City Pony Tail League, member of the Gloucester City Housing Authority and an active member of the Gloucester City Republican Club and past committeewoman. Candy was involved as Past Secretary to the Gloucester City Helping Hand Committee.

Devoted daughter of the late Thomas F. Dorris and Caroline (nee Southard). Loving and devoted wife of 24 years to Theodore J. \”Ted\” Howarth. Beloved mother of Sean D. Howarth of Gloucester City. Dear Sister of Kim Hubbs (Edward) of Gloucester City and T. Forrest Dorris (Donna) of Mantua. Loving Sister-In-Law of John T. Howarth of Gloucester City, Debra Corda (Raymond) of Florida, Traci L. (Michael) DeNinno of Pine Hill and the late Joseph J. Howarth (Angie). Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives, friends and members of the American Legion Family are kindly invited to attend her viewing on Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm and Saturday morning from 10 to 11 am at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, (at Brown Street) Gloucester City. Episcopal Religious Service 11 am in the funeral home officiated by Mother Bradley of Saint Luke\’s Episcopal Church in Westville.
