HADDON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A 12-year-old girl who was sent home from school Wednesday complaining of an ear ache died Saturday from what tests showed was Pneumococcal meningitis, an infection of membranes around the spinal cord and brain.
Seventh grade William G. Rohrer Middle School student Kayla DeJesus was transported to Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center at first, then transfered to Cooper University Hospital on Thursday.
