Press Release
As gas prices rise and financial markets slip, a new local business is hoping to insulate Delaware and Chester County’s economy with a multifaceted campaign to explain the benefits of keeping purchases close to home. Over a year in the making, the \”Local First\” campaign is a joint effort of locally owned small business entrepreneurs from Delaware and Chester County who partnered together to develop this business strategy for locally owned businesses in Delaware and Chester Counties.
The campaign will utilize a variety of media for advertising including Internet, television, radio, various newspapers, and through their web site GetLocalFirst.com promoting loyalty to Delaware and Chester County businesses. It will also include events such as \”Lunch Local\” and \”Local First Day\” events featuring locally-owned, independent businesses.
Delaware County and Chester County residents will start hearing the \”local first\” message within the next month, in time for the holidays. The concept is simple, what is spent in our counties stay in our counties. Similar campaigns across the country have been widely successful.
