Glading: South Jersey Voters Tired of Taxation Without Representation

\"Pine BARRINGTON, NJ – With the average South Jersey family’s tax burden soaring to record levels, First District Congressional Candidate Dale Glading (R-Barrington) made the following statement on the morning of Tax Day 2010: \”South Jersey taxpayers are filing their taxes today, and they’re thoroughly disgusted to see the federal government confiscate so much of their hard-earned income,\” said Glading.

\”Americans desperately need vigorous and independent representation in Washington to fight for less spending and lower taxes; unfortunately, Congressman Rob Andrews has spent the last 20 years rubber-stamping every punishing tax hike that’s crossed his House desk.\” Rep. Andrews is one of Congress’s biggest spenders and most consistent supporters of new taxes. The entrenched incumbent also regularly stands in the way of pro-taxpayer reforms. For example, over the past decade, Andrews unbelievably voted against eliminating the marriage penalty, against enacting tax cuts for local small businesses, against providing a child tax credit for South Jersey families, and against simplifying the complicated U.S. tax code. \”It’s time for South Jersey voters to elect someone who is more interested in representing their interests than taxing their paychecks,\” added Glading. \”I pledge to provide that representation every single day I’m blessed to serve the First District in Congress.\”
