Former TCNJ Lions Continue to Play Ball

Ewing, NJ… Three players who enjoyed their collegiate baseball careers at The College of New Jersey are continuing to compete with Independent Baseball Leagues across the country. Dan Ramos-Dominko ’09, Jeff Toth ’09, and Gerard Haran ’07 all signed professional contracts to play with independent teams this spring.

Ramos-Dominko ’09 became the most recent Lion alum to sign a professionally earning a contract to play for the Yuma Scorpions, an Arizona-based team that plays in the Golden \"Thumbnail.aspx\" Baseball League. Ramos-Dominko has appeared in two games and picked up his first professional win on July 10 against the Chico Outlaws. The Yuma Scorpions are in first place in the South Division of the Golden League.

Toth suited up for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings this spring after playing the winter season for the Western Canada Miners. Toth played second base and hit safely in three of four games with a pair of doubles and three runs batted in before being sidelined by a shoulder injury. The All-American shortstop has been invited back to play for the WhiteWings once he’s deemed healthy. Toth finished his career at TCNJ with a .402 lifetime average, 22 home runs, and 63 stolen bases.

Haran is catching in St. Paul, MN for the St. Paul Saints in the American Association of \"Thumbnail.aspx\" Independent Baseball. He’s currently hitting .260 with eight home runs and 30 runs batted in. Since setting TCNJ’s all-time record for home runs (49) and RBIs (215), Haran has played in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, the St. George Roadrunners, Newark Bears, Washington Wild Things, and Lancaster Barnstormers.
