My name is Michael Walters and I am running for City Council in the First Ward as an Independent. I am married with three children, and have lived in Gloucester most of my life. I am a retired firefighter due to a line of duty injury. I have also worked in the public housing industry.
Having worked in these fields I have been able to evaluate the good and bad of Gloucester City. There are a lot of good people in this town and I believe, with your help, we could change some of the bad into good. My wife, daughter and I have volunteered an immeasurable amount of hours to many of the great organizations, clubs and events in Gloucester City. It seems that many of these organizations, clubs and events have all but disappeared, such as the Fourth of July Parade. I feel that if we pull together we could bring our town back to life again.
