On June 1, Gloucester City High School (GHS) presented Academic Awards to current students and the Distinguished Alumni Award to three qualified former graduates.
Receiving the Alumni Awards were Jane Gellien, Joseph J. Hagan and James E. Hannold.
Jane Gellien (nee Carson) was a member of the Class of 1950.
Jane was a medical professional for 40 years after graduating from the Albert Einstein School of Nursing in Philadelphia.
After working there and at West Jersey Hospital, she put her career on hold to raise three children.
