GLOUCESTER CITY NJ (CNBNews.net)—Kieran McGirl has made a film about his former
classmate from Gloucester Catholic High School —— Johnny Gaudreau, aka Johnny Hockey. The film, titled The Rise of Johnny Hockey, features interviews with his parents, Guy and Jane, and his brother Matt, who plays hockey for Boston College. Film clips of Johnny as a youngster on skates along with film of him scoring goals when he played for Gloucester Catholic, Boston College are also featured, along with present day video of him playing hockey for the Calvary Flames. 

 

McGirl entered his film in the NESN Next Producer contest. He has recently learned that his video made it to the finals.

 

According to his mother Sheila, her son’s film project about Johnny Hockey began over the summer and was ongoing through his Christmas break.
