BURGLARY SUSPECT MICHAEL J. CANNING
GLOUCESTER CITY NJ — June 22, 2015 at 5:42 am officers responded to a vacant residence in the unit block of S. Burlington Street for a report of a burglary in progress. Officers searched the residence and located a suspect hiding in a second floor bedroom. Michael J. Canning (27), a resident of the 100 block of S. Burlington Street, was arrested without incident.
He was additionally found to be a wanted person out of Camden County. Canning was sentenced to five years in prison for burglary in September, 2014 but was released in January 2015 into the Intensive Supervision Program.
Canning was charged with burglary, theft, possession of burglar tools and remanded to Camden County Jail without bail.
ALLEGED DRUG PUSHER ROBERT R. RAND
On June 18, 2015 at approximately 6:10 pm City Detectives and the Patrol Division executed a search warrant on a vehicle on N. Broadway at King Street Street culminating an investigation into the distribution of CDS from the vehicle in various areas of Gloucester City. As a result, a quantity of heroin, cash and a vehicle were seized. The target of the investigation, Robert R. Rand (35), a resident of Bellmawr, was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of CDS and possession with intent to distribute. He was later remanded to Camden County Jail after failing to post bail.
THOSE CHARGED ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN OTHERWISE.
