Assemblyman Clinton Calabrese (D-Bergen, Passaic), Chair of the Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee, issued the following statement today on yesterday’s train derailment in North Bergen:

Detectives Investigating Shooting in Cherry Hill

Cherry Hill, NJ – Detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a man in Cherry Hill, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Cherry Hill Police Chief John Ostermueller.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at approximately 3:53 p.m., officers from the Cherry Hill Police Department responded to the Liberty Bell Plaza, located at 2083 Route 70 East in Cherry Hill, in reference to a person shot in a vehicle in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers located a gunshot victim – a 61-year-old male – suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

Sarah Ann “Sally” Martino, 83, of Westville

Sarah Ann “Sally” Martino (nee Corsey), 83, of Westville, passed away on January 19, 2022. Sally was born in Philadelphia and has resided in Westville since 1967. She worked for the Gloucester County WIC for many years, and she was a reporter for the Gloucester City News. Sally was a member of the Gloucester County Federation of Republican Women, Gloucester County GOP, Gloucester County Executive Committee for Westville, Westville Republican Club, and the Westville Independent Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
