Bellmawr Mayor Frank Filipek, (photo) during last week’s Council meeting, said the Borough’s Fourth of July Parade has been cancelled due to budget issues.
So, at least for 2010, the long-standing tradition of baby floats, string bands, marching bands and Fire Departments will be silent.
Gloucester City has already cancelled their parade, yet the annual fireworks show will still take place July 3 at Gloucester City High School.
Mount Ephraim will have its Fourth of July Parade.
In other business, Bellmawr Mayor and Council played host to Bell Oaks Eighth Graders for the Borough’s annual Student Government Day May 27.
