PHILADELPHIA: Cross-Dresser Sought for Armed Robbery of a Sovereign Bank Branch

The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance\"wanted to identify and locate the subject\"wanted responsible for the armed robbery of the Sovereign Bank branch located at 6740 Germantown Avenue earlier today.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., the subject entered the bank and brandished a handgun. The subject demanded cash, which he placed in a handbag he was carrying. The subject is described as a black male, late 30’s to early 40’s, average height, slender build, wearing a dark gray long wig, large sunglasses, a white long-sleeve buttoned shirt, and a floral printed skirt. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the bank and was last seen in a four-door black sedan, possibly a Cadillac, headed eastbound on Slocum Street. There were no injuries.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
