Gloucester Catholic\’s Braddock living his baseball dream

Zach Braddock made the major leagues at the young age of 22, but that \"BraddockZ10PS001-200x300\" doesn\’t mean it wasn\’t a long road for the left-handed pitcher from Gloucester Catholic. He underwent Tommy John surgery between his junior and senior high school seasons and faced injury problems that limited his time on the mound in the first few years of his professional career.\"\" But in the last two years after starting the 2008 season in A-ball, Braddock has shot up through the Milwaukee Brewers\’ minor league system, making his major-league debut in May. He arrived in Philadelphia a short ride over the Walt Whitman Bridge from where he played his high school and legion ball on Friday looking forward to the chance to pitch in front of friends and family. \”It\’s why I went to high school where I did,\” said Braddock. \”I wanted the smaller school, but also the program. I grew up in the baseball realm, I wanted to put myself in this position. I was hoping to get here. It\’s what I\’ve dreamed of.
