Fire Prevention Code Updates
Commissioners approved an ordinance on first reading that updates the borough’s fire prevention code to reflect state statutes and requirements already in place. Residents are reminded that an inspection is required prior to renting or selling a property. The fee is $25 – $50 if application is made less than five days in advance of the inspection.
Raffle Ordinance Approved
Commissioners approved on first reading an ordinance governing raffles in the borough. In addition to setting forth requirements, application guidelines and issuance procedures, the ordinance establishes a $25 application fee.
Fire Gear Purchase
Commissioners authorized the purchase of fire turnout gear from First Due Emergency Supply Company in the amount of $89,612.25, and the purchase of breathing apparatus from Breathe Safe Fire & Safety Equipment Company in the amount of $135,000.
