(Washington, D.C.) – Today, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) issued a statement in support of former Massachusetts Governor and presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s emphasis on the threats posed by the United States’ massive debt during last night’s debate.
When asked about the decisions made by the Obama administration during the \”Arab Spring,\” Gov. Romney stated that promoting peace abroad \”requires us to be strong, and that begins with a strong economy here at home, and unfortunately, the economy is not strong.
When the president of Iran, Ahmadinejad, says that our debt makes us not a great country, that’s a frightening thing. The former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff – Admiral Mullen – said that our debt is the biggest national security threat we face.\”
